Terms & Conditions

Last updated: January 2025. Standard terms governing manufacturing quotations, purchase orders, drawings, and component delivery.

1. Scope and Applicability

These Terms and Conditions govern all manufacturing quotations, contracts, purchase orders, and deliverables provided by FabXE Engineering ("FabXE") to commercial, industrial, and institutional clients ("Customer"). By issuing a Purchase Order (PO) or requesting fabrication services, Customer agrees to be bound by these terms unless explicitly superseded by an authorized written bilateral contract.

2. Quotations and Pricing

All formal quotations issued by FabXE are valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issuance, unless otherwise stated in writing. Due to volatility in global base metal commodity markets (steel, stainless alloys, aluminium), raw material surcharges may apply if purchase orders are issued after quote expiration. All stated prices are exclusive of applicable taxes, tariffs, and specialized international freight shipping unless explicitly specified as DAP/DDP.

3. Technical Drawings and Specifications

Customer is solely responsible for providing accurate 3D CAD files (.STEP/.STP) and 2D engineering drawings (.PDF/.DXF). In the event of dimensional or annotation discrepancies between a 3D CAD model and a 2D PDF drawing, the 2D PDF drawing bearing written engineering tolerances and title block notes shall govern as the master inspection reference.

4. Manufacturing Tolerances and Quality Standards

Unless specific geometric tolerances (GD&T) are explicitly annotated on approved 2D drawings:

  • Laser cutting and sheet metal blank profiles conform to ISO 9013 Class 1/2 or standard ±0.15 mm.
  • CNC press brake bending angular tolerances conform to ±0.5° (±0.3 mm on flange linear dimensions).
  • CNC precision machining features conform to ISO 2768-m (Medium) general tolerances.
  • Welded structures conform to ISO 5817 Quality Level C (or Level B when explicitly quoted under AWS D1.1 specifications).
  • Coating dry film thickness (DFT) conforms to manufacturer application specifications (±15% allowable variation).

5. Material Traceability and Certifications

FabXE procures raw metals from certified mills. Mill Test Reports (MTR / EN 10204 3.1 certificates) certifying chemical composition and mechanical properties must be explicitly requested at the time of quotation and PO issuance to ensure full heat lot segregation.

6. Delivery, Risk of Loss, and Turnaround

Stated production lead times commence only after all three conditions are satisfied: (a) receipt of an authorized Purchase Order, (b) receipt of final approved 2D/3D manufacturing drawings with all engineering queries resolved, and (c) receipt of agreed commercial advance payments. FabXE exercises best commercial efforts to achieve scheduled delivery milestones, but shall not be held liable for delivery delays caused by raw material supply shortages, shipping carrier port congestion, customs clearance, or Force Majeure events.

7. Inspection, Acceptance, and Warranty

Customer shall inspect delivered components within fifteen (15) calendar days of physical receipt. Any claim that parts fail to conform to approved engineering drawings must be reported in writing within this period, accompanied by inspection reports or CMM measurements. FabXE's sole liability for verified defective parts is limited to prompt repair, replacement, or credit at FabXE's discretion. FabXE disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from component failure.
